    Services for Larry Allen Caton will be held Wednesday at Jones Chapel Church of God, with the Rev. Ron Leonard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Caton, 60, of Meridian, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, in Newton. He was employed at Long Wholesale Co. and was a former minister.

    A graduate of Anderson University and the Wesley Biblical Seminary with a master’s degree in divinity, during his career he pastored two churches and was currently Sunday School teacher at Jones Chapel Church of God. Mr. enjoyed reading and studying God’s word, studying theology and history in general.

    Mr. Caton enjoyed fixing things and working with his hands and computers. He will be remembered as a Godly man of high moral character, who enjoyed his family and will be greatly missed.

    Survivors include his wife, Evelynn; daughter, Rebekah Stephens and her husband, Scott, sons; Joel Caton and his wife, Jennifer, and Jeremy Caton; five grandchildren; his sisters, Brenda Tatu and her husband, Wayne, and Dorothy Canady and her husband, Dennis; and brothers, Dennis Caton and his wife, Sue, John Caton and his wife, Kim, and Jerry Caton and his wife, Sam.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson and Margaret Caton; and brother, Jack Caton.

    Pallbearers will be Joel Caton, Jeremy Caton, Scott Stephens, Dennis Caton, Dan Talley and Scott Espey.

    Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m., at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to services at the church.
