The Marsha Barbour Center will remain open into the summer months.
Center director Lance Geil tells the Sea Coast Echo that donations have provided money to keep the center afloat.
Geil says an after school program attended by about 20 children daily will continue until the end of the school year. She says the health club is still open for members, and a few wedding receptions have even been planned.
However, the pool remains closed. For the past two years, it was the training site of the Mississippi Aquatic Club, which produced eight state champion and four regional swimmers. The club moved out when the pool closed last month. Geil says the pool should reopen at the end of May, in time for summer.
