“We have had Crimestoppers calls and tips coming in but we also have been given several different names so we are trying to narrow down these leads as quickly as possible,” Calhoun said.
The unidentified man is being sought in connection with burglaries, thefts and at least two shooting incidents in the Zero community.
LCSD Investigator Charles Pickett said, “This person is considered armed and potentially dangerous so we ask that no one approach this individual. We believe he is living in the Zero community.”
Pickett said the suspect, described as a tall, slender white male between 17 and 25 years of age, has burglarized a home, stolen items from a storage shed and tried to break into other homes in the area of Jeffery Acres Road. He said the person has also been involved in two shooting incidents in the past three weeks. One such incident involved the suspect trading gunfire with a resident while on the other occasion the suspect was driven off a woman’s porch after the woman shot in his general direction.
A surveillance photo was taken of the suspect by an infrared camera at one of the resident’s homes, Pickett said. He said the suspect climbed up and tore off the camera but not before it captured his face.
“We are still hoping someone can provide us with that golden piece of information that will nail this case down,” Calhoun said.
