Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department officials identified the deceased as Christian Alan Delaney, 19, Raymond Tyler Matos-Neives, 18, and Allyson N. Anderson, 17. The three teens were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred at about 9:40 p.m. on Lauderdale Toomsuba Road just south of the Dalewood Lake community entrance.

The man, who was driving the truck involved in the accident, was not identified. LCSD Chief Dep. Ward Calhoun said the man had serious injuries and was in intensive care at a Meridian hospital. Calhoun said the man was expected to recover from unspecified injuries.

Calhoun said a preliminary crash investigation determined the vehicle carrying the three teens, lost control and crossed into the path of the truck that was traveling northbound. It is not clear who was driving the vehicle. The impact split the car along its length ejecting the three teens.

“The investigation into the crash is ongoing,” Calhoun said. “We don’t expect any charges to be filed in regards to this accident.”

Calhoun said one of the teens, Matos-Neives, was currently a student at Northeast Lauderdale High School whereas Delaney and Anderson were past students. Calhoun said this is a blow to the entire community.

“It is a tragedy when you lose one life but when it is three young people, with another person seriously hurt, it makes this incident much worse,” Calhoun said. “Our prayers here at the sheriff’s department go out to those family and friends of all the victims involved.”
