John Baxter, with the National Weather Service in Meridian, said this weather system is a non-event in terms of snowfall in our area. He said there may be a light dusting of snow further north in the state around Starkville on over to the Delta region but for now, Lauderdale County will remain free of the white stuff until later in the winter. Baxter said the temps tonight should run above freezing with the cloud cover acting as a blanket keeping temps around 35-37 degrees.
