Adron V. Whitehead

Services for Adron V. Whitehead will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Danny Lanier officiating. Burial will be in Coye Assembly of God Cemetery in Preston, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Adron, 81, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at Anderson Regional Medical Center North. He was born Dec. 2, 1929 and grew up in Louisville. He lived in Hazel Park, Mich. for many years and worked as a supervisor for Detroit Coil. He also owned and operated a family diner until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Willow (Dee); one sister, Barbara Rodgers; three sisters-in-law: Clarice Williamson, Carolyn Carroll and her husband Howard, and Beverly Jones and her husband Bob; six nephews: Wayne Rodgers, Charles Rodgers and his wife Debbie, Don McKay and his wife Sharon, Randy Carroll, Danny Carroll, and Eddie Smith and his wife Stacey; three nieces: Alisha Broussard and her husband Stephen, Alison Colvin and her husband Jon, and Suzanne Whitney and her husband Sean; and, a host of great-nieces and nephews. He had a special first cousin, Tina Lee, with whom he enjoyed a close special relationship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adron A. and Christine Kemp Whitehead.
The family requests memorials be made to Northcrest Baptist Church or to Coye Assembly of God Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers will be Don McKay, Randy Carroll, Danny Carroll, Eddie Smith, Greg Lee, Garner Kemp, Barry Wright, Wayne Rodgers, Charles Rodgers and Sean Whitney.
