A Meridian man arrested Monday and charged with the strong-armed robbery of an individual in August had his bond revoked because he was already on parole from a previous case.
Mike Vick, public information officer with the Meridian Police Department, says Frederick L. Goree, 43, of 1926 25th Ave., in Meridian, is on a holding order by authorities with the Mississippi Department of Corrections after this latest arrest. Vick says Goree’s bond was set at $5,000 in Meridian Municipal Court Tuesday but that MDOC authorities had placed a hold on Goree because of the parole violation.
If it is determined Goree did violate his parole, he will be sent back to prison to serve out the rest of his previous term and whatever sentence he receives on this latest charge.
Vick says the incident took place at 19th Street and 25th Avenue. Vick says Goree took an undetermined amount of cash from the victim. Vick says the victim suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Goree was arrested about 5:45 p.m. Monday by officers of the Patrol Division.
