According to Capt. James Sharpe, commander of the Meridian Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, detectives have arrested 59-year-old, Patti Elaine Pena, of Meridian, and charged her with five counts of grand larceny. Shapre says Pena is charged in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred while she was employed with various Meridian residents as a house keeper. There was no information on what Pena is alleged to have stolen. Pena was initially housed at the Lauderdale County Detention Facility pending further legal and/or bonding actions, but has since been released after meeting her $37,500 bond requirements. Sharpe says more arrests and/or charges are possibly pending as the investigation into Pena’s activities continues.
