Crowds flock to the fair

The Queen City Fair opened up to clear skies and comfortable temperatures as droves of people piled into the Lauderdale County Agri-Center Monday afternoon. There is plenty of food and fun at this year's fair, which continues through Sunday. Traffic problems did arise outside the fairgrounds as fairgoers lined up to get into the fair. Meridian Police Department units were on hand to handle the traffic snarling, and to hand out citations to those motorists who chose to park in restricted areas.
