Lucky Dog Rescue is my 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization here in Meridian. I founded Lucky Dog Rescue to save the forgotten souls: dogs from shelters, the abused, the sick, the special needs, and those with no other hope. Each Lucky Dog Rescue dog is fully vetted, including

vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment, and any other necessary vet care.

Today, I’m asking for the help of this community. Currently, Lucky Dog Rescue is in desperate need of volunteers and donations, and each and every of you can help in some way!

Volunteers are needed to walk the rescue dogs, bathe the dogs, play with the dogs, and perform various cleaning activities. Becoming a volunteer for Lucky Dog Rescue is not only fun, but it’s extremely rewarding. I promise you won’t regret it!

So, if you want to walk some amazing dogs, I’ve got a job for you! If you want to make a difference for animals, I’ve got a job for you! If you need to lose weight, I’ve got a job for you!

If a handful of local residents offered even an hour of their time each week, it would mean so much to my rescue dogs! I’m asking every animal lover out there to consider volunteering for Lucky Dog Rescue! If you’re interested in volunteering, send an email to luckydogrescueblog@gmail.com or call

601-681-8759.

For those who can’t volunteer, donations are also needed, and all donations are tax-deductible. Contributions can be made via Paypal.com to the organization’s email address luckydogrescueblog@gmail.com or by visiting http://luckydogrescueblog.blogspot.com/p/donate. Checks can be mailed to Lucky Dog Rescue, P.O. Box 3224, Meridian, MS 39303.

Donations of supplies would also be helpful, such as dog food, rawhide bones, dog toys, heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, and gift cards.

There are so many other ways you can get involved as well! Lucky Dog Rescue needs help with fundraising efforts, community outreach, and pet adoptions. Photographers are also needed for pet photos, and dog trainers would be extremely helpful for basic training.

In addition, if you’ll consider joining our Foster Program, you can make a major difference for one deserving pup at a time. All food and vet care will be covered by the rescue group, your family just provides the love!

If you can’t commit to fostering full-time, maybe your family could foster a special dog for just the weekend. The one-on-one attention and socialization makes such a difference for each dog, and you get to spend your weekend with a cool new pup! I’d say that’s a pretty good deal!

There’s nothing more rewarding than helping animals in need. Lucky Dog Rescue is making a difference each day for the animals in this community. Please join us.
