Miss Poole, Mr. Sumrall

    Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Leigh Poole of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Leigh, to William Jacob Sumrall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill and Suzanne Sumrall of Bay Springs.

    The wedding will be Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 6 p.m., at Highland Baptist Church in Meridian.

    Miss Poole is the granddaughter of Lamar and Ann Fisher of Meridian, and the late Charles and Margaret Poole of Emelle, Ala.    

    The bride-elect is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in biology with a minor in mathematics. She is a graduate of Lamar High School.

    While attending Birmingham-Southern College, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Phi Beta Kappa honor society, Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health honor society, Beta Beta Beta biological honor society, and Students Offering Support.    

    Miss Poole will attend the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in the fall.        

    Mr. Sumrall is the grandson of Joe and Mattie Lee, and the late James and Betty Jane Sumrall, all of Bay Springs.    

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, where he received a bachelor of science degree in accounting with a minor in business administration and economics. He is a graduate of Heidelberg Academy.

    While attending Birmingham-Southern College, he was a member of Theta Chi fraternity.    

    Mr. Sumrall is currently employed by Hol-Mac Corporation in Bay Springs.

    A reception will be held at Northwood Country Club.
