The movie is an inspiring story about Clemons, who is from Little Rock, Mississippi, and three other war heroes who went from the horror of war in Baghdad, to fulfilling Olympic dreams in Beijing.
Clemons was weeks away from finishing his U.S. Army tour in Iraq, when his unit came across a group of wounded soldiers.
A combat medic, Clemons rushed to assist, and a roadside bomb exploded, killing three and wounding him.
His dream of becoming a professional football player was gone, but his love for sports turned his life around. Within two years of being injured, Kortney became the fastest 100 meter runner in the country for his disability category.
“I went from being embarrassed to wear shorts, to proudly displaying my injury,” he said.
Tickets are $5 and are available at the Temple Theater and Collinsville Physical Therapy. All proceeds will help cover the cost of Summer Day Camp 2011 for special-needs and foster children at Camp Eagle Ridge.
