Michael and June Clayton of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Tara Diane, to Daniel Raymond Komar, son of Raymond and Kathleen Komar of Bamberg, Germany.
The wedding will be Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. at the Citadel Beach House, on the Isle of Palms, S.C.
Miss Clayton is the granddaughter of Dempsey and Frances Broadhead and the late Fred Wilmer Clayton, and Julia Rush and the late James Rush, all of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology andaudiology in 2006 and a master’s degree in speech pathology in 2008. She is a graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School in Meridian.
Miss Clayton is employed by Summit Rehab as a speech pathologist.
Mr. Komar is the grandson of the late Frank and Lillian Komar of Sommerville, Texas, and the late William and Mary Norris of Chicago, Ill.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of the Citadel in Charleston, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology. He was then commissioned in the Navy and started flight school in Pensacola, Fla. In his final tour, he was a member of VF-31, the Navy’s last fighter squadron, where he was deployed three times. He is a graduate of Cypress Creek High School in Houston.
Mr. Komar is a first officer with Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, Ga,, and a reserve flight instructor at NAS Meridian.
