Members of Long Creek Community Development Club celebrated Valentine’s Day by eating special desserts and participating in holiday programs after a brief business meeting.
The club met at their club house on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011. Marguerite “Mac” Clark presented a tribute to love and community before the group began working on blankets to be donated to area nursing homes.
The blankets were made from two layers of fleece tied together. Twenty-two blankets – designed to accommodate patients in wheelchairs – were completed with laughter and light competition.
Club members voted to begin delivering the gifts made of love to the most local facilities – the four Fisher Care Personal Care Homes, two of which are located near the club house. The homes are owned and operated by Dwayne and Cathy Fisher of the Long Creek Community.
