The Ballet & Theatre Arts Performing Companies, 253 College St., in Gilbertown, Ala., will stage “The Wizard of Oz” this weekend. The cast is made up of students from Southern Choctaw High School. Dorothy (Darby Shepherd) and Toto invite you on their trip to the Land of OZ. You will meet all the denizens who dwell there and enjoy all the fun, excitement and trauma they have along the way. You will meet Bog (Jaggar Maddox) – Zog (Madison Hearn) – Melinda, the good witch of the North (Camilla Kirksey – The Scarecrow (Jared Sikes) – The Tinman (Jeremy Gallet) – Verdo, the Wizard’s guard (Dustin Thompson) – Jade, his maid (Ashley Thompson – Belinda, the wicked witch of the West (BreAnna Presley) – Her cats, Inky(Sydney Turner), Blinky (Shaunya Wallace),  Slinky(Paresha Manuel) – Winkle boys, Winkle (Nathan Soper), Wonkle (Aaron Sikes) – Glinda, the good witch of the South (Parisha Manuel) – Winkie girls, Amber (Precious Manuel), Topez (Madison Hearn) – The great and terrible Wizard of Oz (Piper Shepherd).  Shows for the general public are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 18-20.
