Tommy and Muriel Curtis Phillips celebrated 50 years of marriage on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. The couple were married on Feb. 4, 1961, at First Church of God in Meridian. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Gerald St Cin. The Phillips have resided in Meridian their entire married life. Mr. Phillips retired from Roadway Express after 32 years, and Muriel was a stay home mother and wife. They are members of First Baptist Church of Collinsville. The Phillips have four daughters: Tina (Gary) James, April Faerber, Shannon (Stirling) Brondel, and Heather (Jamie) Bunyard; and 11 grandchildren.
