Art crawl starts 5 p.m. today

Meridian’s 2nd Annual Art Crawl happens today with more than 20 downtown businesses featuring art from local and regional artists.
The free event is open to the public starting at 5 p.m. at the Meridian Main Street office, 2120-A Main St. The building is across from The Regions bank building that is on 22nd Avenue and Fifth Street.
From that location maps and signature cards will be handed out. People who visit a certain number of participating businesses have a chance to win a door prize.
The Crawl will continue until 8 p.m. and will be followed by a reception at the Temple Theater until 9:30 p.m. sponsored by the Jefferson Performing Arts Society. JPAS will be bring the production “The Sound Of Music” to the Temple on April 10.
Participating businesses in the Crawl are: Sam’s Fashions, Bambinos, Sparkle Boutique, First Ladies Designer Hats & Things, Lucas Road, Beyond Capital, Deli on 5th, Art & Soul, Crecendo Art Gallery & Studio, Sage Coffee & Books, Elegance Ballroom & Fitness Studio, Meridian Artist Co-Op, Embellish, K Fulton Art & Frame, Weidmann’s, Cater’s Cafe, William Godwin’s Studio Arts & Interiors, Dream It, Labiche Jewelers, Meridian Underground Music, Saxon’s Florist & Gifts and Meridian Museum of Art.
