Rojean B. Tedder

     Mrs. Rojean Boutwell Tedder, 79, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond, La. She was a retired Louisiana public schools teacher with 25 years of service. Most of her experience was teaching first grade at Tucker Elementary School in Ponchatoula, La. She earned her B. S. degree at the University of Southern Mississippi and her M. Ed. degree and 45 post graduate credits at Southeastern Louisiana University. As long as her health permitted she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hammond.

    She is survived by her brother, Ray Boutwell and his wife Joyce; her husband of 58 years, Thomas Tedder; her daughter, Jan Labbe’ and her husband Steve; her son, Tommy Tedder and his wife Agnes; six grandchildren: Anne Labbe’ Gowan and her husband John, Stephen Labbe’ and his wife Jennifer, Johnathon Sprouse and his wife Allison, Jennifer Sprouce, Emma Adams, and Stephanie Tedder Bennett and her husband Jesse; and, great-grandchildren: Madison, Samantha, Grace, Tyler, Collin, Emilie, Richard, and Hope.

    Rojean was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lucy Buckalew Boutwell; and, one brother, Leonard Boutwell.

    The funeral will be held Thursday, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held Friday, at 11 a.m., at Hays Cemetery near Meridian.

    In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hays Cemetery Fund and mailed to Mrs. Martha Germany at 4299 County Road 456 in Meridian, MS 39301.
