Southern Debutante Assembly to present 2010 honorees

    The Southern Debutante Assembly will present its 2010 honorees at the annual White and Gold Ball on Dec. 29 at the Greenwood Country Club in Greenwood. The group of young ladies to be presented includes:

     • Katharine Elizabeth Taylor Acosta, daughter of Mrs. Hardeman Acosta of Greenwood and Dr. Joseph Robert Acosta of Meridian. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor Hardeman of Greenwood and the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Acosta of Shreveport, La. A graduate of Pillow Academy in Greenwood, she is attending Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga., where she is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She will be presented by her father and her grandfather.

     • Margaret Lowery Cady, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Donald Cady Jr. of Meridian. She is the granddaughter of Mr. David Gunn Critchlow of Union City and the late Mary Caldwell Critchlow and Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Cady of Meridian. She graduated from Lamar Foundation High School in Meridian and attends the University of Mississippi, where she is a member of Chi Omega sorority. She will be presented by her father.

     • Mary Grace Cady, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Donald Cady Jr. of Meridian. Her grandparents are Mr. David Gunn Critchlow of Union City and the late Mary Caldwell Critchlow and Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Cady of Meridian. A graduate of Lamar Foundation High School in Meridian, she is a student at the University of Mississippi and is a member of Chi Omega sorority. Her father will present her at the ball.

     • Hallie Majure Phillips, daughter of Mrs. John Houston Phillips of Meridian and the late Mr. Phillips. She is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Don Hauser and the late Mr. Rodney Anthony Goodling, both of Meridian, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Burris Phillips of Yantley, Ala. A graduate of Lamar Foundation High School in Meridian, she is continuing her education at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, where she is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She will be presented by her brother-in-law, Mr. Calvin Carter Clay of Birmingham, Ala.

    • Sunny Caliste Rush, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Gustavus Adolphus Rush III of Meridian. Her grandparents are Mrs. Rougeou Perry and Mr. Edward Leverne Perry, both of Alexandria, La., and the late Dr. and Mrs. Gustavus Adolphus Rush Jr. of Meridian. She is a graduate of Lamar Foundation High School in Meridian, attends the University of Mississippi and is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Her father will present her at the ball.

     • Taylor Rae Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lee Thompson of Meridian. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Paul Dendy Shaw of Meridian and the late Mr. Billie Parks Cockrell of Louisville and Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Thompson Jr. of Meridian. Her father will present her at the ball. She graduated from Lamar Foundation High School in Meridian and attends the University of Mississippi, where she is a member of Chi Omega sorority.

     • Mary Lela Valentine, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Lee Valentine of Marion. Her grandparents are Mrs. Harry Edward Patton Jr. of Marion and the late Mr. Patton of Nitta Yuma and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Clyde Valentine of Decatur. A graduate of Lamar Foundation High School in Meridian, she is continuing her education at the University of Mississippi. She is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She will be presented by her father.
