Law enforcement authorities are searching for a man who once lived in Meridian and who may be responsible for a quadruple homicide in Lake Charles, La., this past weekend.

    In a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department issued through the Meridian Police Department, Sheriff Tony Mancuso said the “person of interest” is Lee Roy Williams, 52, whose last known addresses prior to living in Lake Charles were Meridian and Chicago, Ill.

    MPD Capt. James Sharpe, commander of the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, said Tuesday his division is doing everything possible to assist the CPSD.

    “We still have not received any information, however, that Williams or the vehicle have been seen in our area,” Sharpe said Wednesday morning.

    Mancuso said in the release Williams was a resident of the trailer where the bodies of two women and two men were found on Monday by the mother of one of the women. The mobile home is located at 5859 Tom Hebert Road, Lot #70.

    Mancuso said Williams was last seen with the four victims Friday evening and has not been seen since. Williams is thought to have been driving a dark blue, 2000 model Ford Explorer XLT carrying a Mississippi license plate #LCE 755. Mancuso said the vehicle is registered to Williams out of Lauderdale County. According to earlier reports, the vehicle was sold to Williams by its previous owner who is a Meridian resident.

    Williams is a black male who is between 6 feet 2 inches and 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 350-400 pounds. He is also known as “Big Lee” and “Big Man.”

    Mancuso said Williams has prior arrests and convictions for involuntary manslaughter and breaking/entering in North Carolina; and larceny and forgery arrests and convictions in Mississippi.  Mancuso said Williams is a known crack cocaine user and frequents areas known for drug activity.  He has been described as being a transient and has been known to frequent homeless shelters and food centers, said Mancuso.

    A warrant for Williams’ arrest for possession of CDS II (an unrelated charge) has been signed by Judge David Ritchie with a bond of $25,000.
