    Services for George Ramia will be held today at 2 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Curtis Lucy and Doug Dewesse officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.

    Mr. Ramia, 86, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ramia was born November 28, 1923, in Meridian. He was the former owner of the Terminal Café, Hotel and Package Store on Front Street. Mr. Ramia was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Mr. Ramia was a World War II veteran. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and spending time with family at his camp on the Warrior River in Demopolis.

    Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mynard Taylor Ramia; sisters, Annie Marie Hodge and her husband, Gene, of Leeds, Ala. and Roselie Perryman and her husband, Tom, of Houston, Texas; brother, William Ramia and his wife, Gay, of Collierville, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Jack Taylor and his wife, Irma, of Soso; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his son, George Ramia Jr.; parents, Inez and Joseph Ramia; and brothers, Louis and John Ramia.

    Pallbearers will be his nephews, Rex Hiatt, Joe Hiatt, Jimmy Ramia and Joe Ramia; and great-nephews, Anthony Hiatt, Joey Hiatt, John Hiatt and Steve Atchinson.
