    Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Litchfield of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Morgan, to Benjamin Gilbert Bryant, son of Dr. and Mrs. Gerald M. Rankin and Mr. James Everett Bryant of Vicksburg.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Meridian Museum of Art.

    Miss Litchfield is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John William Jenkins and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Turner Litchfield of Meridian.

    The bride-elect received a master of science degree in community counseling from Mississippi State University, Meridian Campus and a bachelor of science degree in educational psychology from Mississippi State University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in counselor education at the University of Mississippi. She is a graduate of Meridian High School.

    While attending MSU, she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.

    Miss Litchfield is employed as a counselor at the University of Mississippi Counseling Center.

    Mr. Bryant is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Martin Dean, the late Lydia Gilbert Bryant and Herman Kelly Bryant Sr., all of Vicksburg.

    The bridegroom-elect received a juris doctorate degree from the University of Virginia, a master of science degree in journalism from Northwestern University and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor of arts degree in history. He is a graduate of Vicksburg High School.

    While attending Ole Miss, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa.

    Mr. Bryant will be employed as a lawyer at the Attorney General’s office in Jackson.

    A reception will be held at Meridian Museum of Art.
