   Meridian police are looking for help in identifying suspects in an armed robbery at BP Express Lanes, located at 1019 Highway 39 By-Pass.

    Police released surveillance video and still photographs of the robbery Tuesday, in hopes the public can help identify the robbers.

    Meridian patrolmen and officers with the department’s criminal investigation division responded to the armed robbery call about 8:50 p.m. on Monday, March 1.

    James Sharpe, commander of the MPD Criminal Investigation Division, said officers interviewed an employee at the scene of the robbery, who said two white males entered the business demanding money, and that one of the suspects displayed a handgun.

    One suspect is described as 6 feet tall and slim with a narrow face and light complexion. He is estimated to be between the ages of 18 and 25, and was wearing a red or hunter orange hooded sweatshirt. This suspect also appeared to have an injured or disabled right arm.

    The other suspect is described as heavy set, weighing about 200 pounds with a round face and dark complexion. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, is estimated to be between the ages of 18 and 25, and about 5’8″-5’10” tall. This suspect also is described as having numerous tattoos on his right lower leg in the front and rear.

    “The suspects fled the business going in the direction of the Frontage Roads on foot, with an undisclosed amount of money,” Sharpe said in a news release Tuesday. “There were no injuries reported during the robbery.”
