Mr. Burt, Miss Ellis

 

    Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wayne Ellis of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Lauren, to David Brandon Burt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Burt of Newton.

    The wedding will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at 6 p.m. at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church.

    Miss Ellis is the granddaughter of Doris Brown of York, Ala. and the late Samuel Ellis, and the late Ollie and Virginia Wilkes of Meridian.

    The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Meridian High School. She is currently employed by Methodist Orthotics and Prosthetics.

    Mr. Burt is grandson of Birtis Bryant of Newton and the late the Rev. James Artis Bryant, and Aline Plilar of Hickory and the late W.W. Burt of Kewanee.

    The bridegroom-elect received a master’s degree in business administration from Mississippi State University-Meridian and graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree from Hannibal-LaGrange College in Hannibal, Mo. He is a graduate of Newton County Academy.

    Mr. Burt is employed as assistant vice president of Newton County Bank.

    A reception will be held at the Temple Theatre Ballroom following the ceremony.
