Freeze caused some to lose water

Officials with the Toomsuba Water Service said their 1,400 customers lost water service or water pressure Saturday due to a problem with frozen pipes.

As of Tuesday afternoon, customers had still not had service restored, but officials were hoping to have everything up and running by Tuesday night.

Customers lost service around 4 a.m. Saturday morning, waking up to either no water, no water pressure, or low water pressure. Customers were given a boil water notice, and the Lauderdale County Emergency Management Agency provided water for TWS customers to pick up from TWS on a first-come, first-served basis.
