Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the city of Hattiesburg plan to hold a press conference Wednesday to announce installation of message boards along U.S. Highways 49 and 98 and Interstate 59.

The $3.7 million Hurricane Response and Incident Management Project involves the installation of dynamic message boards and fiber optic cables to be used during hurricane evacuations and large scaled event management in the Hattiesburg area.
