CALHOUN CITY — Services for Billie Jean Watkins will be held today at 2 p.m. at New Liberty Cemetery in Vardaman with the Rev. Jeff Harmon officiating.

Mrs. Watkins, 79, of Houston, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Trace Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Vardaman.

She is survived by a son, James Watkins and his wife Cindy of Union City, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Altha Vanlandingham, two sons, John Wayne and Roger Lynn Watkins, and a daughter, Frankie Rose Pearson.
