Detectives with the Meridian Police Department arrested 17 year old Kmondrae Daevon Curry of Meridian Thursday in connection with the incident at Meridian High School where a gun was found in a student’s vehicle.

Curry was charged with possession of a weapon by student; he was then processed as an adult and allowed to make a $5,000 bond, officials said. The incident happened Monday.

If convicted, he could face a fine of $5,000, or committed to the custody of the State Department of Corrections for up to three years, or both. No other arrest are expected on this incident.

The charge against Curry will be presented to the Lauderdale County Grand Jury to be convened on March 22nd.
