The volatility of the stark market was explained by Sam T. Weir at the April, 13, 2009, meeting of the Liberty Community Club.
Topics discussed by Weir included “Safe vs. Unsafe Investments,” “Long Term vs. Short Term Investments” and “Investment Portfolios.”
Mary Laing called the fourth meeting of the year to order. Sixteen members, three guests, and 14 families were present. Ray Boutwell led the Pledge of Allegiance and Laing blessed the food.
After the potluck supper, Laing presented the monthly devotional.
Paige Weir won the child’s door prize and Marcus Shivers the adult’s door prize for the month.
Hostesses were Peggy Gaines and Korby Mann.
Laing adjourned the meeting, closing with the quote: “If God is your co-pilot … swap seats.” She then gave the closing prayer.
The next scheduled meeting will be May 11, at 6 p.m.
