Shane Blanton, who will take the post of headmaster at Lamar School beginning in July, visited the Meridian Star today to talk about his educational philosophy and his plans for the school. Blanton said he believes children receive the best education when the curriculum is not centered too heavily around standardized testing.



“I’m not preparing kids for a test,” he said. “I want them to be prepared to be young men and young women that are capable of articulating what they believe.”
