Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Herrington of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Anne, to Micah Alan Henderson of Homewood, Ala., son of Mr. and Mrs. James “Butch” Henderson of Chelsea, Ala.

The wedding will be held Friday, May 15, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joe W. Johnson and the late Jennie Johnson of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Herrington of Philadelphia.

Miss Herrington received a bachelor of science degree cum laude in communications in 2007 from Mississippi College in Jackson. She is a 2003 graduate of Lamar High School and attended Meridian Community College.

While attending Mississippi College, Miss Herrington was a member of the Baptist Student Union Leadership Team, Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa. She served as president of the Mississippi Baptist Student Union during her senior year and was the recipient of the Todd Communication Award.

Miss Herrington is currently pursuing a master’s degree in communicative disorders at the University of Alabama. She is scheduled to graduate in December.

The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kimbrough of Auburn, Ala. and the late James and Sarah Henderson of Russellville, Ala.

Mr. Henderson received a master’s degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2008 and a bachelor of science degree in music education from the University of Alabama. He is a 1998 graduate of Homewood High School.

Mr. Henderson is employed by Calvary Baptist Church.
