Sarah Ulmer of Elloree, S.C. announces the engagement of her daughter, Ashley Carmichael, to Jacob Garrett, son of John and Amy Garrett of Lauderdale. Miss Carmichael is also the daughter of the late Greg Carmichael.

The wedding will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 5 p.m. at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church.

Miss Carmichael is the granddaughter of Patricia Harrison of Bailey and Harold Carmichael of Quitman.

The bride-elect is currently enrolled in the physical therapist assistant program at Meridian Community College. She is a graduate of Lamar High School.

Miss Carmichael is employed by Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Garrett is the grandson of Betsy Garrett of Marion and the late Jimmy Garrett and Ruby Brown of Collinsville and Harold Brown.

The bridegroom-elect will graduate from the United States Military Academy in May. He is a graduate of Northeast High School.

Mr. Garrett is employed by the United States Army.

A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.
