The Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors had their first meeting of April this morning. Some highlights of the meeting include:
– The supervisors were reluctant to pass the claims docket, which they must do in order to pay the county’s bills, and were confused about which bills the claims docket includes each month.
– District 5 Supervisor Ray Boswell objected to the credit card bills of Supervisors Craig Hitt (Dist. 3) and Joe Norwood (Dist. 4).
– The Northeast Volunteer Fire Department will receive a grant that will allow them to purchase a large amount of equipment.
– Board President Hank Florey said work on the Hawkin’s Crossing Interchange could begin as early as June.
