Mississippi State University-Meridian Campus, is displaying an Emmett Till Exhibit located in the lobby of Kahlmus Auditorium at the MSU-Meridian Campus. The traveling exhibit of Emmett Till was created by Delta State University through a grant provided by the Mississippi Humanities Council. The gallery guide states: “Throughout this exhibit, the voice of 1955’s citizens of America, Europe and Asia sound off, offering their opinions and views on the murder and trial of young Emmett Till and his murderers.” Dr. Dennis Mitchell, Division Chair of Arts and Sciences at MSU-Meridian, calls it “A powerful exhibit that helps us understand one of the most darkest episodes in Mississippi History…it was the beginning of Mississippi’s isolation.” The exhibit is available for viewing until April 16.
