Marvin “Super” Cooper wins Faster Pastor race at Whynot

Marvin “Super” Cooper of Bethany Baptist Church started third and took the lead midway through the race and held off Kenny Walters of Northcrest Baptist Church the final lap to win the 10 lap second Annual Faster Pastor race Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.
Jody Dyess of Faith Assembly of God in Quitman lead the first half of the race until a battery problem ended his night.
Cooper and Walters battled it out on the final lap as the two made contact giving Walters a flat tire and Cooper the win.
“I’m just thankful for a safe race for all the Pastors and I’m glad I won” Cooper said.
Cooper finished second in last years Pastor race to Ronnie Cooper of Rolling Creek Baptist Church of Quitman. Cooper finished third.

The event raised $5,500 dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Mississippi.
Whynot would like to thank all the Pastors and all the drivers that donated their cars for the event.
Jim McDuffie held off several challenges from Roger Rolison to win the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly racing series Late Model feature. Larry Murphy finished third.
Kyle Rutledge won his sixth straight Open Wheel Modified feature with Ben Stephens second and Tim Rutledge third.
David James made the winning pass on Kyle Rutledge with two laps remaining to claim the Street Stock feature with Wayne Medders third.
Bill Bunyard claimed the Mini Stock feature over Johnny Pearson and Brian Quinn.
Robi Dearing won the Stinger feature over the Phillip “the infield idiot” Coleman and Tim Dees.
John and Sara Mercer won the Cruiser feature.
