Special to The Star
CHOCTAW – Jupiter’s Ring, the youngest group of musicians ever to play a major music festival, opening for the likes of Prince, Pink Floyd and Jack Johnson, will bring its rock and roll sound to Pearl River Resort. On July 14, the band, which ranges in age from 13-18, will play a 5 p.m. show at the Clearwater Key outdoor stage of the resort’s Geyser Falls Water Theme Park.
To commemorate one of the youngest acts to entertain park visitors, Pearl River Resort has plans to give back to the community that has made it so great. A donation of half the admission price (up to $5,000) for everyone who comes to see the show will be made to the Hope Village for Children. The Meridian-based Hope Village for Children gives safe housing to children removed from their families’ homes until a more permanent solution can be found.
“By working with an important organization like Hope Village for Children, we are helping to strengthen our community,” said Beasley Denson, Chief of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. “We saw the buzz surrounding Jupiter’s Ring as a great way to help raise funds and awareness for this great organization.”
Geyser Falls Water Theme Park is a 23-acre water-theme park featuring 12 major water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river ride and interactive areas for children that include special water features and mini water slides. The park also includes cabanas for rental, a retail shop, and Clearwater Key – a white-sand beach with crystal clear pools. General admission to the park is $34.99.
