Palmer promoted with Community Bank
Jeff McCoy, President of Community Bank in Meridian, announced the promotion of Henry A. “Hap” Palmer to Assistant Vice-President. Palmer joined the bank in 2005 as a Loan Officer and was later named Security Officer.
Palmer is a native of Meridian and a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He is presently attending the Graduate School of Banking at Ole Miss.
Palmer is Captain and Brigade Staff Officer with the Mississippi Army National Guard’s 168th Engineer Brigade in Vicksburg. He is a veteran of “Operation Iraqi Freedom,” where he served 2004 to 2005 with the 155th Brigade Combat Team.
Active in the community, Palmer is a District Chairman for the Choctaw Area Council of the Boy Scouts, a member of the North Meridian Optimists Club, and Vice-President of the 168th Officers’ Association.
He and his wife, Ashley, have two children, Jackson and Olivia, and are members of Collinsville United Methodist Church.
MMFCU’s Roberson inducted into Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions
Jackie Roberson of Meridian has been inducted into Who’s Who in America’s Credit Unions for 2008.
Roberson was nominated based upon his leadership among the nation’s credit unions, particularly his service at Meridian Mutual Federal Credit Union.
Roberson presently serves as Vice-Chairman at MMFCU.

May Ambassadors
of the Month
The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation awarded its May Ambassador of the Month winners to three participants. In third place was LaBaron Hedgemon with Citizens National Bank, in second was Stacey Williams with New South Ford, and in first place was Cindy Aucoin with Brown Printing.
This committee of dedicated volunteers assists with numerous membership activities and events throughout the year including ribbon cuttings and ground breakings conducted by the EMBDC. The work to secure new members and increase membership retention by building relationships and maintaining communication with existing and prospective members. Waste Management named to ‘World’s Most Ethical Companies’ list
GULFPORT – Waste Management, Inc. (NYSE:WMI) has announced the company has been named on Ethisphere’s second-annual World’s Most Ethical Companies list. The company is the only one listed in the “environmental services and equipment” category. CEO David Steiner delivered the keynote address at the joint Ethisphere and Forbes conference, “Driving Profit through Ethical Leadership,” held in New York on June 3.
The Ethisphere Institute, a think-tank dedicated to the research and promotion of profitable best practices in global governance, business ethics, compliance and corporate responsibility, revealed the award at the Ethisphere and Forbes joint conference. The list of World’s Most Ethical companies will also be featured in the Q2 issue of Ethisphere Magazine.
Researchers and analysts reviewed several thousand companies in order to determine the finalists, which included a rigorous, multi-step evaluation process.
