Local cleaning company ‘greens’ up its act
Southern Cleaning Services of Meridian, Inc., the company that cleans the offices at downtown’s parking garage, has announced that they will begin using more environmentally friendly cleaning products and processes, starting Monday.
Southern Cleaning’s CEO Chris J. Keene said that the new system and products will reduce waste, respiratory irritations to people inside the building, and overall impact on the environment.
Another cleaning company that is contracted with the city, ServiceMaster, has already implemented greener cleaning processes in its maintenance of Union Station.
Both companies have adopted the “greener” policies as part of the City of Meridian Green initiative that was announced on Earth Day.
