The Meridian Little Theatre ended one of the most successful seasons of its 75 year history last Saturday evening, May 24.

During the theatre’s gala, Austin Awards, having been voted on by the theatre’s 1,800 members, were presented to outstanding performers on the MLT stage for the past five years.

Best Actor in a Musical honors went to Ken Patterson, with Susie Johnson taking the Best Actress in a Musical award. Best Supporting Actress and Actor in a Musical were Diana Eggler and Greg Snowden, respectively. Best Actor in a Drama or Comedy went to Jeremy Sande, while Sidney Covington captured Best Actress in a Drama or Comedy. David Miller and Ward Calhoun tied for the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama or Comedy, and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama or Comedy was Mary Ann Varela.

The membership of the theatre voted the musical “CATS” as the best production over the past five years.

The Meridian Little Theatre will announce next season’s spectacular line up of productions by the end of June. Season memberships go on sale beginning Aug. 1. Call the MLT box office at 601-482-6371 for more information.
