Local officials have issued a precautionary “boil water” notice for people who get their drinking water from the Russell Utilities in Lauderdale County.

This precautionary action is necessary because the system lost pressure.

This is for customers living north of Jellenc Construction and along Homestead Road, Old Homestead Road, Clear Creek Subdivision, Russell Manor, Experiment Station Road and E and G Trailer Park.

It is recommended that customers boil their water for one minute until further notice.
