• Registration continues through May 23 for the Young Adult Summer Reading Program at the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library. The program is free for students in grades seven through 12. Visit the Web site at www.meridian.lib.ms.us to print a registration form or visit the library. Every student that registers will be entered into a drawing for a MP3 player. • 9 a.m.-11 a.m. — Word Processing Computer Class will be held at the Meridian Activity Center, 3300 32nd Avenue. Five weeks for $15. Call (601)485-1812.
• Noon- 5 p.m. — Some participants in the US Highway 11 Antique Ally 500 mile yard sale begin offering bargains. The Antique Ally begins in Meridian and runs to Bristol, Va., with continuous yard sales, antique shops, and rummage sales for the entire route and ends Sunday, May 18. • 5 p.m.- 6 p.m. — Monthly meeting of Mississippi Writers Guild will meet at the Gathering Place on Front Street. 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. is the youth and religious readings, songs and skits of Literary Artists on Stage; 8 p.m.-10 p.m. adult readings, songs and skits. • 5:45 p.m. — The Lauderdale County Country Dancers will meet at the Northeast Community Center on Briarwood Road, next to Northeast Lauderdale High School. Clogging will be taught at 5:45 p.m.; line dancing at 6:45 p.m. and a beginner class of square dancing at 7:30 p.m. All ages are welcome. Call Carol Hosch at (601)483-7016.
