Pet Services owner Dr. George Shannon is proud to announce the addition of Meridian native, Dr. Wayne Adams Jr., as attending veterinarian at the Poplar Springs Drive office. Adams will focus on small and large animals and offers distinguished and advanced training for the care of animals.
Dr. Adams is one of only four Mississippi veterinarians who holds a TPLO Slocum surgery certification, which allows for an advanced repair technique for the knee in animals. Additionally, Adams is one of three veterinarians in the state who holds a Penn Hip radiology certification, which allows for the evaluation of hip displasia on animals as young as 16 weeks old. Dr. Adams is also trained in Imex’s advanced external fixation and halo application for fracture repair from Iowa State University.
Dr. Adams returns to Meridian after having spent four years in Illinois where he practiced at a companion animal clinic and referral center, where he received his specialty training in orthopedics.
“I am thrilled to be back in my hometown and offer my advanced veterinary services to the area. My goal is to provide the highest quality of medicine and surgery to our patients and clients. I look forward to working with the local veterinary community to serve their referrals and provide outstanding care to both small and large animals,” said Adams.
Patients and clients can make appointments with Dr. Adams at Pet Services located at Poplar Springs Drive, (601) 693-9340 and at the Adams Animal Hospital on Highway 39 North, (601) 483-1411.
