UWA football adds 2 more signees
LIVINGSTON, Ala. – University of West Alabama head football coach Bobby Wallace announced the addition of two signees to the 2009 signing class on Thursday afternoon, as Jarvis Nixon and Jonathan Weinreich were inked to UWA.
Nixon, a 5-11, 245 lb., defensive lineman from Prattville, Ala. and Weinreich, a 6-4, 340 lb., offensive lineman transfer from Allan Hancock College, bring the 2009 class to 24 additions for the season.
The Tigers had previously announced 22 signees on National Signing Day Wednesday, including 11 with Mississippi ties.
Among those initial 22 signees was former West Lauderdale standout Dameon Baylor, who spent the past two seasons at East Mississippi Community College. East Central quarterback Deon Williams also signed with UWA, and Wallace’s signees from Alabama included Southern Choctaw defensive end Lavanda Powe.
