TUESDAY CRASH

A two-car collision Tuesday afternoon at Old Country Club Road and Highway 39 North resulted in only minor injuries to the drivers of the vehicles despite the fact the two cars were heavily damaged. Only one of the victims required any medical attention at the scene. The accident occurred at about 2:05 p.m. and blocked one of the northbound lanes of the highway. The impact was so severe the front right wheel of the northbound vehicle was ripped off. The driver was able to maneuver the vehicle out of southbound traffic despite the loss of the wheel. Northeast VFD responded to the scene.
