Mailande Elizabeth Vise and Rodney Trent Wilson Jr. were married on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church in Meridian with the Revs. Richard Martin Vise Jr. and Mark Eugene Correll officiating.

Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. Richard Martin Vise of Meridian and Jacqueline Mary Wilson and Rodney Trent Wilson Sr. of Birmingham, Ala.

The bride is the granddaughter of Elizabeth Prater Brookshire and the late Newton Duncan Brookshire Jr. and the late Dr. and Mrs. Guy Thompson Vise Sr., all of Meridian.

The bridegroom is the grandson of Patricia Tyra Thompson of Naples, Fla., John Robert Thompson of West Haven, Conn., and Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Jones of Sevierville, Tenn.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Barry Germany, organist and pianist; Kit Boulding and Elwira Krengiel, violinist; Daniel Sweeny, viola; Sarah Vanderwall, cello; Charles Gates, trumpeter; and Susie Johnson, flautist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of silk Mikado. The strapless bodice featured a sweetheart neckline with tiny pleats at the bustline. The dropped waistline was trimmed with pleats and the A-line skirt fell into a chapel-length train. She wore a chapel-length veil of ivory silk illusion edged with Alencon lace that had been worn by her mother. She carried a bouquet of roses, calla lilies and peonies in shades of white and pink.

Rachel Vise Adams of Jackson, the bride’s sister, served as matron of honor. Other attendants were Erika Gordon Huddleston of Dallas; Mary Halsey Maddox de Idiaquez, Bragan Dreher Petrey and Anna Jean Williams, all of Birmingham, Ala.; Amanda Wilson Pearce of Alabaster, Ala., sister of the bridegroom; Kelly Elizabeth Jarrett of Baltimore; Melissa Craig Powell of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Stacy Rogers Sharp of Austin, Texas.

Elizabeth Ruth Vise of Auburn, Ala., niece of the bride, was flower girl.

Mark Aaron Correll of Birmingham served as best man.

Groomsmen and ushers were Clinton Michael Wilson of Littleton, Colo., brother of the bridegroom; George Bailey Adams of Jackson; Duncan Brookshire Vise of Houston, Texas, brother of the bride; Casey Camp Giddens of Birmingham; Robert Wesley Holland III, William Jordan Woo and Fred Briggs Jones, uncle of the bridegroom, Chase Daniel Evans and Hunter Alexander Wright, all of Trussville, Ala.

William Thompson Vise of Auburn, nephew of the bride, and Sean Tyler Pearce, of Alabaster, nephew of the bridegroom were ring bearers.

Program attendants were Rachel Annette Vise and Mailande Alexandra Vise of Jackson and Margaret Malone Turner of Arlington, Va., all cousins of the bride.

A reception was held at the Mississippi State University Riley Center following the ceremony.

After a honeymoon to Saint Lucia, the couple will reside in Pasadena, Calif.
