An apparent chemical spill two miles north of Collinsville on Highway 19 has snarled traffic in west Lauderdale County.

Two miles of the highway have been shut down at this time, and a detour has been set up for motorists. The closed-off areas will remain closed until early afternoon. A detour has been set up to move traffic around the accident. The detour travels to Fire Tower Road, then to Wildcat Road, then Hand Road, and then this returns motorists to Highway 19 North.

The spill was from a chemical truck; there were no injuries.
