Blannie Mae Cooper
Graveside services for Blannie Mae Cooper will be held today at 11 a.m. at Kewanee Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cooper, 88, of Columbus,Ga., died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital. She was born on May 2, 1919, in Kewanee and was the daughter of the now late John Luther McElory Sr. and Nellie Bly Miller McElroy. She will be remembered as “Ma-Maw” who was a homemaker and a loving woman who cared deeply for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her daughter, Judith Rebecca “Becky” Castellow of Columbus, Ga.; grandsons, Robert Winfred Castellow of Phoenix City, Ala., Stephen Scott “Steve” Castellow Sr. and his wife, Jacqueline DeShawn “Shawn”, of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Robert “Bobby” Everette Castellow, Stephen Scott Castellow Jr., Dustin Hunt Castellow and Cassie Faith Castellow, all of Columbus; a sister, Helen Louise Ranager of Meridian; a brother-in-law, Robert L. Cooper and his wife, Gail, of Slidell, La.; sisters-in-law, Ruth Cooper of Dallas and Nell Haskett of Columbus, Miss. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Luther McElroy Jr.; her husband of 65 years, Winford Hunt Cooper; brothers-in-law, William Ranager, the Rev. Dr. Lamar Cooper and William Haskett.
Memorials may be made to Valley Rescue Mission, 2904 Second Ave. Columbus, GA 31904 or to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be today from 9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Era I. Massey
Graveside services for Era I. Massey will be held today at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Cory Stott officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Massey, 81, of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Bert Massey of Meridian; a daughter, Linda Massey Bruister and her husband, Herbert, of Meridian; a granddaughter, Katie Bruister of Meridian; sisters, Effie Berry and Faye Milam, both of Opelika, Ala., Maye Akin of Valley, Ala., Lootte Sigers of Auburn, Ala.; a brother, Caron Adams of Camphill, Ala.; a sisters-in-law, Margie Adams of Roanoke, Ala. and Ruth Massey, of Hoover, Ala., and a brother-in-law, George Massey and his wife, Delores, of Birmingham, Ala. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice and Walker Adams and brothers, Ray Adams and James Adams.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Services for Mary Ruth Dallis Walters will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Roller officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in the House Community. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Walters, 75, of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Poplar Springs Nursing Center. She was retired from the Social Security Administration of Meridian and Philadelphia. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Suqualena. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a past worthy matron.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Coker and her husband, Johnny, of Meridian; sisters, Billie Mae Ridout of Meridian, Helen Crenshaw of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Holly Coker Roberts and her husband, Adam, of Witchita Falls, Texas and John Coker and his wife, Karah, of Brandon; one great-grandchild, Mitchell Toney Roberts of Witchita Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace C. Walters; son, Jerry Walters; brother, Randolph Dallis and parents, Sims and Nela Dallis.
Memorials may be made to Cokers Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Larry Cannon, Patrick Cannon, Jerald Ridout, Hiriam Coker, Curtis Butler, Ryan Taylor and Philip Butler.

QUITMAN — Services for Theodore Rossevelt “Red” Long will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronnie Cooper, Billy Brumfield and Raymond Martin officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery in Clarke County.
Mr. Long, 78, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Golden Meadows in Quitman. He was a retired textile worker at Burlington. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Harper Hospice in Meridian.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Edith Long of Quitman; a son, Terry Long of Quitman; a daughter, Lynn Fairchild and her husband, Mike, of Quitman; a sister, Tina McMinn of Meridian; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; a brother; a sister and a cousin.
Memorials may be made to Harper Hospice, Golden Meadows Nursing Care Facility or Rolling Creek Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
Pallbearers will be R.L. Smith, George Holifield Jr., Willie Ed Lee, Gene Fairchild, Ray Smith and Robert Ivy.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Jeanette Madison Green will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Michael Wells and Stacy Madison officiating. Burial will be in the Cooks Chapel Cemetery in Neshoba County.
Mrs. Green, 71 died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in her home. She was a native of the Forestdale Community of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of the Bloomo Community. She was longtime operator of the Bloomo Junction Restaurant. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church where she was a choir member and Sunday School secretary. She had served as a poll worker for Neshoba County the past several years.
Survivors include her daughter Pam Smith of Philadelphia; a son, Mike Green of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Kadee Watson of Philadelphia, Patrick Watson of Philadelphia and Chase Ridgon of Little Rock; one great-grandchild, Kellie Watson, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a brother Kenneth Madison of Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pat Green in 1993.
Pallbearers will be Stacy Madison, Paxton Todd, Danny Howell, Allen Howell, Miller Todd, and John Todd.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Turner, 82, of Needham, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss.
Survivors include six daughters; a son; two sisters; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

GILBERTOWN, Ala. — Services for Richard “Rick” James Hancock will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Dobies Funeral Home Chapel in Hudson, Fla. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hancock, 83, of Quitman, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Hancock; six sons; one daughter; one brother; one sister; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mrs. Wash, 75, of Scooba, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, in her home. She was a member of DeKalb United Methodist Church and was a bookkeeper for McDonalds’ Restaurants.
Survivors include her children, Terri C. Goss and her husband, Bobby, of Scooba, Mary Ann DeSantis and her husband, Tony, of The Villages, Fla., Nora Lynn Davis and her husband, Mike, of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Amanda Hailey and her husband, Jason, and Jonthan Goss; great-grandchildren, Alicia Aspiazu and Hagen Hailey; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dr. J.U. and Ruby Morrison, W.H. and Snookie Knight and Roland Guy, all of Laurel; sisters, June Aust and her husband, Bubba, of DeKalb and Joyce Aust of DeKalb; her brother, Jimmy Craig of Carthage and a special friend, Susan Cook of Carthage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Ray Wash; parents, James and Venie Craig and a sister-in-law, Blanche Guy.
