Mildred Flanagan

Graveside services for Mildred Flanagan will be held today at 10 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Flanagan, 95, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her nephew, Donald Woodward of Camden, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Jack” Flanagan and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Carroll.
Charles William Smith Sr.
DEKALB — Services for Charles William “C.W.” Smith Sr. will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Scooba Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Crepe Creek Cemetery in Stuart. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith, 87, of Scooba, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Riley Hospital. He was a retired Mississippi State Highway Patrol Trooper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked in the air conditioning business and was also a former school teacher. He was a Mason and deacon emeritus at Scooba Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Smith of Scooba; sons, Charles W. Smith Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Tunica, Mike Smith and his wife, Sandra, of York, Ala., and Joe Smith of Meridian; step-sons, Phillip Moore and his wife, Candy, of Waunakee, Wis. and Steve Moore of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Sarah Oliver of Lakeland, Fla., Sandra Hodge and her husband, James, of Springfield, Ga., Polly Ivy and her husband, Steve, of Scooba, Patricia Roberts and her husband Jimmy, and Deborah Meeks, all of Meridian; 15 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren and a sister, Ila Mae Cavanaugh of Winter Park, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Adele Murphy Smith; a son, Benny Ralph Smith and a step-son, Arlen Moore.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Robert Oliver, Will Oliver, Michael Smith, Tony Headrick, Kirk Hodge, David Hodge and Murphy Smith.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home in DeKalb and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Joel Thomas Culpepper
YORK, Ala. — Graveside services for Joel Thomas Culpepper will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Blackburn officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Culpepper, 47, of Meridian, Miss., died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, in Meridian.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Culpepper; two sisters, Dorothy Rainer and Peggy Jones; two brothers, Danny Stephens and Mike Stephens; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
J. Quimby Walker
Memorial services for J. Quimby Walker will be held Friday at 8 p.m. at Hill Country Community Club House at 383 Briarwood Road. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Walker, 71, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, in Meridian.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Walker of Meridian; a daughter, Wendy Mitchell and her husband, Scott, of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, James Walker and his wife, Ericka, and six grandsons.

Mr. Johnson, 63, of Meridian, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

GILBERTOWN, Ala. — Services for Rosa Inez Davis will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Crossroads Church of God. Burial will be in Bay Minette Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Davis, 93, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Washington County Nursing Home in Chatom, Ala.
Survivors include her sons, Floyd Davis, Doyle Davis and Emory Davis; daughters, Lois Overstreet and Joyce Rester; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
