Annie Mae McGrew Crenshaw



Services for Annie Mae McGrew Crenshaw will be held today at 10 a.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernest Allen officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Crenshaw, 88, of Collinsville, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Queen City Nursing Home.

Survivors include one son, Odell Crenshaw and his wife Betty, of Meridian, two daughters, Jane Scruggs, and Delores Roberts and her husband, Wayne, all of Collinsville, grandchildren, Mike Scruggs, Mark Scruggs, Chad Scruggs and his wife Kim, of Collinsville, Dawn Crenshaw, of Meridian, Brande Beddingfield and her husband, Chris, of Brandon, William Linton and DeWayna Roberts, of Collinsville. Great-grandchildren, Drezden Scruggs, Taylor Scruggs and Tanner Scruggs, all of Collinsville, and Raley and Raine Beddingfield, both of Brandon, and Amber Harris and her husband, Vance, of Meridian. Great-great-grandchildren, Mary Catherine and Braison Harris, both of Meridian, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and several brothers and sisters.

The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House or your favorite charity.

Pallbearers will be Mike Scruggs, Mark Scruggs, Chad Scruggs, Drezden Scruggs, William Linton and Bennie Chaney. Honorary pallbearer will be Tanner Scruggs.



Juanita Bounds

NEWTON — Services for Juanita Bounds will be held today at Newton County Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with Revs. Wayne Sellers and Reverend Billy Ray Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Baptist Church cemetery in Lawrence.

Mrs. Bounds, age 81, of Newton, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, in her home.

Survivors include her husband, Howard G. Bounds; a daughter Wanda Bethany; sons Rodney Bounds and Richard Bounds; a sister and a brother; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, six sisters.



Bennie Wayne Satcher



QUITMAN — Services for Bennie Wayne Satcher will be held today at 11 a.m. at Wright’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bob Followell and Robert “Abe” Abram Speed officiating. Burial will be in Stonewall Cemetery. Wright’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Satcher, 66, of Stonewall, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, in his home.

Survivors include his wife, Marion A. Satcher; sons, Lavender Wayne Satcher and his wife, Melissa, Roger Satcher and his wife, Lea; a daughter, Alicia Kay Speed; a sister, Frances Bentmark; grandchildren, Kristen Schrimpshire and Curtis Schrimpshire, Robert A. Speed and Stephanie Speed, Charly Kay Speed, Ashley Michele Satcher, Benny Rason Speed, Asa Wayne Satcher and a great -grandchild, Mackenzie Dean Scrimpshire.



Daniel Warren



Graveside services for Daniel Warren will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Meehan Cemetery with Karl Fahrbach officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Warren, 39, of Meridian, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, in Meehan. He was a machine specialist at Speciality Machine and Welding Co. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, riding four wheelers and doing mechanic work.

Survivors include his son, Matthew Warren of Meridian; step-daughter, Meagan Espey and a step-grandson, James Norris Jr., both of Meridian; his mother, Carolyn Creel of Meridian; sisters, Margaret Long and her husband, Terry, of Chunky and Sandra Ham and her husband, Tony, and Denise Ryals, all of Meridian, Connie Hill and her husband, Dale, of Sandersville and Teresa Holifield and her husband, Larry, of Enterprise; brothers, Dewayne Warren and Samuel Warren, both of Meridian and Johnnie Warren and his wife, Dana, of Little Rock.

Pallbearers will be Carl Rowell, Justin Rowell, Walter Hogg, Johnny King, Matthew King, Eugene Weir and Josh Hamburg.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the funeral home.



Edna Jimerson



Services for Edna Jimerson will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Crier Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Jimerson, 84, of Meridian, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.



Elmon Moore

Retired Southern Railroad employee



Services for Elmon Moore will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Wall officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Moore, 93, of Meridian, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, in his home.

He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. and served in World War II. He was a Mason.

Survivors include his daughter, Diane Brown and her husband, Glenn, of Meridian; a grandson, Maury Grice of Meridian and several nieces, nephews and great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy McLemore Moore.

Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church or First Christian Church.

Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.



Robert Alexander Dettwiler



GILBERTOWN, Ala. — Services for Robert Alexander Dettwiler will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mike DePhillips and Bob Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Brightwater Cemetery.

Mr. Dettwiler, 47, of Melvin, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at Rush Foundation Hospital.

Survivors include his step-father, Joe Haney; his mother, Daphene Dettwiler, both of Quitman, Miss.; his wife, Angie Dettwiler; a daughter, Bridgett Dettwiler; three sisters and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Bryan Ryann Ben will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church with the Rev. Bob Goodyear officiating. Burial will be in Pearl River Community Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ben, 15, of Choctaw, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at University Health Center in Jackson.

Survivors include his parents, Rita and Carl Wishark; his biological mother, Janice Ben; two sisters; one brother; his grandfather and several other relatives and friends.

Services for Minnie Lee Adams will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Fitkins Memorial Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Dr. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Okatibbee Baptist Church Cemetery. Enterprise Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Adams, 84, of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Queen City Nursing Center.

Survivors include her three sons; eight daughters; 36 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild; two brothers and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the funeral home.



George William Maten



GILBERTOWN, Ala. — Services for George William Maten were held Monday at 11 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jamie Pembo and Randy Abston officiating. Burial was in Gilbertown Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Maten, 85, of Gilbertown, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, in his home.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Maten; a daughter, Lisa Taylor; one brother; five sisters and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zula Nordan Maten and Julian Maten.

Services for Bernice Terrell Lewis were held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection of Omaha, Neb. with the Rev. Judith Yeates officiating. Roeder’s Mortuary in Omaha is in charge of arrangements. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Lewis, of Omaha, formerly of Meridian, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, in her home.

Survivors include her daughters, Vivian Fay Davis and her husband, Spencer, Evelyn Kay Hannah and her husband, Stanley, all of Omaha; a son, Lorenzo Lewis and his wife, Wanda, of Baltimore; sisters, Nazie Williams and her husband, Elder L.V., of Meridian and Lauris Roseboro of Omaha; a brother-in-law, John Arthur Lewis of Meridian; a sister-in-law, Ruth Rogers of Los Angeles; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a very dear friend, Guyora Bond of DeKalb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Lewis Sr.; her parents, Rufus Terrell and Ella Terrell Clark and a brother, L.D. Terrell.

MORTON — Services for Dorothy “Dot” Allen were held Sunday at the family residence with burial in the Golden Grove Church of God Cemetery with the Revs. Paul Sistrunk and Jackie Taylor officiating. Ott and Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Allen, 61, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Laird Hospital in Union.

Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Billy Ray Allen; son: Charlie Allen; sister: Jeanette Palmer; brother: Daniel Lamar Logan: sister-n-law: Kathy Fortenberry: nieces: Janet Clark and Amanda Arender: nephews: Ben and Stanley Fortenberry.
