Audrey René Sherman of Clinton and Jared Wesley Wright of Quitman were married on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Pocahontas Baptist Church with the Revs. Ricky Sherman, the bride’s father, and Michael Bird officiating.
Parents of the couple are the Rev. and Mrs. Ricky Sherman of Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wright of Quitman.
Grandparents of the bride are Mary Roberts of Clinton and the late George Kirby Sherman and Sarah Mason of Spanish Fort, Ala., and Douglas Jackson of Canton.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. James Sessions of Meridian, Josie Wright of Quitman and the late Lenard Montgomery Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ethridge of Little Rock.
Music for the ceremony was provided by the father of the bride and Monica Thornton, vocalists, and Wesley Quick, pianist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin featuring a neckline of crystal beading and clear stones accented by silver embroidery. The A-line skirt featured matching detail down the back and swept into a chapel-length train. She wore a fingertip-length veil of silk illusion edged with satin. She carried a mixed spring bouquet of pink roses and lilies.
Matron of honor was Lori Purvis, of Brandon, sister of the bride. Other attendants were Cydnea Covington of Clinton, Tiffany Sherman of Vicksburg and Anna Wright, sister of the bridegroom, of Quitman.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Andy Hatcher of Meridian, Scott Sherman and Caleb Wright, brother of the bridegroom, both of Quitman, James Gibson of Collins and Travis Stewart of West Point.
Kirby Sherman, of Clinton served as junior groomsman.
Anna Bird was program attendant.
A reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
Assisting at the wedding and reception were Donna Bird and Lynn Jones.
After a honeymoon to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple resides in Clinton.
